STRANGE THINGS

The Dog was running with the joy of freedom in his heart. He never felt so happy before! But the question was, will the dog see that bone or not?

The Kid:

His name was Alex. He was 12 years old. His father was a school teacher, and quite obviously he studied in the same school. So, He used to call his father/teacher, “Dad” at home and “Sir” at school. He was not happy at home. He was not happy at school. And, so on one fine morning, instead of getting in to the school bus, Alex decided to take a local bus and go to city.

The Thief:

His specialization was bike. The best thing about bike is that, you actually need almost zero effort to start its ignition. All you have to do is to cut a wire. So, while choosing a bike to lift, the only thing he has to make sure is that, it is not handle-locked.

So he made sure that the bike is not handle-locked, cut the wire, opened the gate and started riding the bike as if it was his bike. He was heading towards the city.

The Dog:

“Freedom is not the food you eat, not the biscuits you get for retrieving back that ball or Frisbee. Freedom is the fresh air you breathe, through your soul. Freedom is outside these walls. Freedom is waiting for me”

And so, the dog, Snoopy, decided to leave his shelter for the sake of freedom.

The Man (Amir):

Amir got up late from the bed. He was late for his office. The next bus from his village to city is at 11 AM. If he misses that, he will have to go to his office by Bike. So he started to get ready for his office.

STRANGE THINGS 1: (When the dog missed the bone)

“Alex”

There was a silence.

“Roll number 3, Alex”

No one responded.

Teacher marked absence for Alex and continued the roll call.

After that hour, at the staff room, when the teacher met Alex’s Dad, she asked: “What happened to Alex. Why is he absent today?”

“What? He is not there in the class?”

“No. He is not.”

Alex’s Dad took the phone and called his wife. When he kept the phone he was in a state of shock. Alex was missing. Someone has kidnapped Alex!

Nobody even noticed that, Snoopy was not there in his shelter. Snoopy was feeling that freedom in the air. He saw a new world outside those walls. So he ran as fast as he could. He never felt tired!

The thief was riding his “new” bike in full throttle when a kid in school uniform gestured for a lift from the roadside. Normally, he would not have stopped his bike, but today due to some unknown reason, he stopped his bike. The Kid came running towards him.

“Where do you want to go?” the thief asked.

“School. It is in the city. Can you drop me?” the kid asked.

The thief nodded and the kid got on to the bike’s rear seat. The bike started moving again.

“What’s your name?” The thief asked.

“Alex” said the kid.

“Why are you alone here?”

“I missed my school bus. I was late”

The road from this village to the city was almost deserted. The only vehicle which Alex could see now was the bike he was sitting on.

“Can you go faster?” I like speed” said the kid.

The man was surprised by the kid’s behaviour and was in full throttle again.

The Dog was running with the joy of freedom in his heart. He never felt so happy before! He ran away from the city on the village road towards some village.

The dog kept one side of the road alone. But suddenly, for no reason, he felt like crossing the road to the other side.

Few minutes later, a dog suddenly jumped to the road. Before the thief could do anything, the bike hit the dog and lost its balance. In loud thudding sound, the bike went down and hit the hard ground!!!

The engine stopped in a few seconds and there was a huge silence for some time.

When the thief realised what had just happened, he was lying in the ground. He removed his helmet and was back on his foot.

Then he checked for the bike, then he checked for the dog and finally he checked for the kid, Alex!

The Bike was lying in the ground with all petrol spilled out from it.

The Dog was not seen anywhere.

The Kid was lying a few meters away, and he was shocked to see it!

Alex was lying down in a bad shape, with his limbs twisted. Blood was already all over his face and body.

He came near the kid. His head had hit a rock on the road side.

The kid was gone!!! Dead!!!

Alex’s dad called the police station and told the inspector about his kid’s kidnap case. The inspector insisted to give him a written complaint. So, Alex’s dad went to police station.

Amir got the 11’o Clock bus at 11.10 AM. He got the side seat. And, it was around 11.45 AM, when Amir noticed a familiar bike lying in the ground in the road side.

In a few seconds, he realized that it was his bike, and a sudden pain went through his heart like lighting. How the hell did my bike reach here?

Amir got down immediately from the bus and ran back towards the direction of the bike. “Yes” He confirmed, “It is my Bike!!!”

But suddenly, he noticed a kid lying a few meters away from the bike. He ran towards the kid and held him in his hands. The Kid was lying motionless. Amir lifted Alex in his shoulders and started running in the direction of city.

The Dog was seriously hurt. It was limping back to its house. The pain was too much to bear. It could not walk more. So it stayed down there, in that grass ground.

Amir noticed a police jeep coming in his opposite direction. He ran in to the road and stopped the jeep. Inspector got out from the jeep and was shocked to see the kid covered with blood all over his body on Amir’s shoulder.

Amir was struggling to talk.

“Water…water…” he cried.

Alex’s Dad got out from the police jeep and came running towards them. He came and pulled Alex towards him and checked his face.

Yes. It was his Alex!

“Alex!!!!” A Loud cry was heard!

Alex died in that incident.

The thief, out of shock after that incident, was not anymore a thief. He never thought that, he would somehow become the cause for the death of an innocent kid.

Amir was taken to police station, and based on evidences he was sentenced for life term imprisonment.

The Dog could not return back to his house. Due to internal injuries, it died in a week.

STRANGE THINGS 2: (When the dog saw the bone)

The Dog was running with the joy of freedom in his heart. He never felt so happy before! He ran away from the city on the village road towards some village.

The dog kept one side of the road alone. But suddenly, for no reason, he felt like crossing the road to the other side.

But, just before it was about to cross the road, the dog saw a bone in the same side of the road. The dog went and picked the Bone!!!

A bike went past the dog in full speed. Dog was shocked for a moment! Had he not seen this bone, that bike would have hit him and he would have been seriously injured now- He thought!

The dog turned back and looked at the bike again. A small kid was sitting in the back seat in his school uniform and the guy who was riding the bike was not visible for him. So, Admiring the bone, and the good luck it showered on him, The Dog continued his happy journey again!

Nobody heard much about the dog later, but the Dog Lived happily ever after!

Alex was dropped at the next main junction in front of the railway station.

From there, he thought what next to do? First he thought that he will go back to school. Then he thought that he will take a train to somewhere from the railway station, and never ever return back to his house. He stood there and thought about it for sometime.

Amir went to office and did all his work as usual. At 5 P.M, he had some more work to complete at the office. But he was really tired and wanted to go back to his house.

First he thought that, he will stay back in office for some more time and catch the 6 PM bus back to village. Then he thought that, he will leave immediately and catch the 5.15 PM bus back to his village. He stayed there and thought about it for sometime.

The thief was happy that he got the bike quite easily today. He waited in the junction for the signal to turn green. First he thought he would take a left turn from the junction. Then he thought he would take a right. He stood there in the signal and thought about it for sometime. He had 20 seconds to decide!!! The Clock at the traffic signal was ticking down!
